Community Drinks: An evening of connection

March 28th marked the first time this year that the peace & justice community gathered for Community Drinks at the Hub. What an incredible feeling to reconnect with familiar faces and meet new ones, all in one room!

During the Spotlight segment, we had the opportunity to be inspired by the work of two Hub members, HVFC International and Upinion

HVFC International is a consultancy that works with impact-driven organizations to help them diversify funding, increase impact, and build capacity. Together with The Hague Humanity Hub, they have launched the Access to Funding Programme. The aim of the programme is to increase the collective impact of the peace and justice community. How? By supporting organizations in overcoming their fundraising challenges, fostering knowledge-sharing, establishing new connections, and facilitating collaborations and fundraising partnerships.

Upinion is a Digital Engagement Platform that amplifies the voices of people in crisis situations worldwide. They have just been awarded the Migration and Displacement programme grant from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. With this project, Upinion is going to monitor the needs and experiences of migrants in and from Mali, Niger, Tunisia and Libya in order to improve the protection efforts of in-country partners and render their interventions more tailored and adapted to reality.

What made this event even more special was that the doors were opened to the entire community, not just Hub members. Do you want to join us next time? The only requirement is to be a professional who (aims to) contribute to a more peaceful and just world.

Save the date: the next Community Drinks will take place on Tuesday, May 14th from 17:00 – 19:00 – and we’d love to have you there! You can RSVP here
