Knowledge Platform Security & Rule of Law: Feminist Foreign Policy- A Feminist Way Forward for SRoL Development Cooperation

Since 2014, more than a dozen countries and political parties have announced their intention of developing a Feminist Foreign Policy (FFP) – one approach to reworking and reimagining historically embedded power dynamics that underlie international development cooperation. The Netherlands is one of the most recent countries to begin the process of developing its own Feminist Foreign Policy. But what does this actually entail? 

Joined by Alejandra Vicente (REDRESS & GQUAL Secretariat), Fridah Githuku (F.M) (GROOTS Kenya) & Jutta Dr. Joachim (Radboud University), this event will discuss what distinguishes Feminist Foreign Policy from previous (similar) policies and what this policy might look like in practice for SRoL programming. It will highlight the voices of practitioners in SRoL programming and offer policy recommendations on specific adjustments needed to fully operationalize the policy.
