Humanitarian Innovation
November 30, 2023 (16:00 – 19:00 CET) online & in person at the Humanity Hub
Join us in the next edition of the peace&justice café as we delve into the pressing theme of Humanitarian Innovation.
In a world grappling with increasing humanitarian challenges, it has become imperative to innovate our approach towards addressing these crises. Seeking to address the evolving needs of affected populations and the complex nature of humanitarian crises, Humanitarian Innovation has become a central focus in reevaluating the overall humanitarian policy agenda.
Advocates for increased innovation emphasize its potential to deliver more effective and efficient solutions, ultimately benefiting affected populations more than current approaches. However, despite these efforts, there is a growing perception that humanitarian innovation has not fully lived up to its ambitious goal of transforming the sector and addressing prevailing challenges.
During this next peace&justice café, we aim to facilitate an open conversation about the current state of affairs of Humanitarian innovation, the challenges faced, and the necessary steps to advance humanitarian innovation. We aim to create an environment that encourages open dialogue and collaboration among diverse stakeholders representing different perspectives in the humanitarian innovation field.
Organised in partnership with WorldstartUp and HumanityLink, this event welcomes participants from all over the world to join us in person at the Humanity Hub or online. We are bringing together academics, humanitarian workers, innovators, donors, and individuals passionate about making a difference in humanitarian innovation. Our goal is to facilitate an open conversation among different stakeholders and enable cross-sectoral connections and collaborations.
We are bringing together academics, humanitarian workers, innovators, donors, and individuals passionate about making a difference in humanitarian innovation.
The conversation will be facilitated by engaging roundabout sessions, each tackling humanitarian innovation from a different perspective. These roundabouts provide an opportunity to dive into specific aspects of humanitarian innovation and connect with participants interested in similar topics.
