About the Institute

The T.M.C. Asser Instituut is a foundation, established in 1965 as an interuniversity institute for international law in The Hague. The institute is an internationally renowned centre of expertise in the fields of public international law, private international law, and European law. It fulfils an important role in undertaking fundamental and independent policy-oriented research and providing a platform for international cooperation and partnering in fields of law at the cutting edge of academia and practice.

About the Position

The T.M.C. Asser Instituut offers law students the opportunity to enrich their knowledge with practical experience of working in the fields of international and European law. The Institute is currently offering an internship position to assist with research projects in the fields of international law.

Main Tasks for this Position include:

  • To assist with our International Crimes Database and our new website on international humanitarian law, international criminal law, transnational criminal law and legal aspects of countering terrorism;
  • To provide ad hoc research assistance to the members of the research strand on ‘Human Dignity and Human Security in International and European Law’;
  • To help with the logistics of events and the subsequent drafting of reports.
