We are looking for an exceptional candidate to provide leadership in growing and diversifying our income and improving our ability to measure our impact on peace and thus improve the quality of our work.
You have a talent for expressing clearly how Alert contributes to and can measure change in complex environments, and for communicating this information to donors through pro-active donor relationship management and fundraising.
You are experienced in designing projects and raising funds in the form of both grants and contracts. You have a good grounding in the theory and practice of M&E. Ideally you have worked for NGOs and for-profit consulting companies – and certainly for either one or the other – and you have experience of working in project implementation consortia.
Educated to degree level (in a relevant subject), you will have several years successful experience of project design and fundraising for development and/or peacebuilding, and some experience of field implementation.
Supervised by the Director of Programmes, managing a Commercial Contracts Senior Officer, Evaluation and Learning Adviser, the Major Giving Manager and a team of regional fundraising, project design and assessment specialists, you will oversee the continued growth and improved quality of programme design, leading the implementation of plans to improve our ability to monitor and evaluate our projects, and increase funding from institutional funding sources. You will lead the relationships with all our core donors and play an influential outreach and fundraising role with other key institutional donors.
This is an influential, centrally-located position with the potential to add enormous value to our work.
The above include some of the requirements for the job. For the full job requirements, please read the job description.
Benefits include:
• 10% non-contributory pension
• 25 days annual leave plus UK public holidays
• well-being benefits
• season ticket loan
• cycle scheme
