Meeting and Events Coordinator  

(NEAR) NATIVE PROFICIENCY IN DUTCH IS REQUIRED 

The Humanity Hub is looking for an energetic and highly motivated Meeting and Events Coordinator who will take responsibility for the success of our meeting rooms and events services. 

You are the ideal candidate if you have experience on the sales and marketing side of B2B hospitality and want to apply your talents skills to help make the world a better place. We are looking for an individual with a strong sales and customer service orientation, a hands-on mentality and passion and determination to serve and support our community in hosting impactful meetings and events.

40 hours per week 
Location: The Hague Humanity Hub City Central, The Hague

You will 

  • Be directly responsible for sales and marketing of the Humanity Hub meeting and event services 
  • Actively market and sell the Humanity Hub as the meeting and event venue and partner for the peace and justice ecosystem through multiple channels  
  • Encourage and support Hub members to use the Hub to host meetings and (digital/hybrid) events at the Hub City Central location 
  • Develop and maintain long-term client relationships and partnerships  
  • Manage existing and acquire new frame contracts with larger organizations 
  • Support the Hub programming team in planning and hosting community events  
  • Create comprehensive proposals for room bookings and digital event services (incl. showing the space, thinking through logistics options together with the clients, managing catering offers, preparing technical offers) 
  • Work together with Hub team to offer additional support and maximize customer value 
  • Keep up to date with market trends and identify and capture opportunities for growth and improvement of event services from a strategic perspective 
  • Improve and professionalize meeting and events processes and procedures 
  • Handle reservations process from request to invoicing 
  • Work together with Hub facilities staff to ensure adequate stocking and staffing capacity for café services and events 
  • Be responsible for hiring and training of meeting and event staff  
  • Plan and supervise daily logistics with regards to meeting and events  
  • Customer facing event coordination as required  
  • Work closely with and support the rest of the team in other areas when needed 
  • Help community members make valuable connections 

What you bring

  • You have a university degree (WO/HBO) and 1-3 years of work experience in a similar role 
  • Experience in event management, B2B hospitality, venue management, coworking or similar, including a strong sales, marketing, and account management component 
  • You have sales and marketing talent and can work quickly and efficiently in a growing and fast-paced environment  
  • You are a self-starter and can make timely and accurate proposals  
  • Ability to stay calm, responsive, and well-organised under pressure 
  • Patience and enjoyment in interacting with and servicing customers 
  • A curious, friendly personality with a genuine interest in our community 
  • Excellent communication skills and (near) native proficiency in both Dutch and English 
  • A flexible, can-do attitude with good problem-solving skills ready to help where needed, and works well in a team 
  • You have a good knowledge of and experience with digital event services (e.g. studio services, livestream events, event platforms, etc.)  
  • High digital literacy, able to use various online platforms and digital tools 
  • Preferably living in (the region of) The Hague 

Ideally, you also bring

  • A tangible interest the peace, justice, humanitarian, impact sectors 
  • Experience in a start-up environment and with developing services and relevant business processes 

What we offer

  • Remuneration will be between 2100 – 2500 EUR gross (full-time) depending on experience 
  • 8% vacation pay and 25 holidays (based on full time)
