The Future of Serbia’s Foreign Policy and European Integration

14 June, 2022 @ 6:00 pm 7:00 pm

“Inner courtyard or backyard, neighbours, or friends? The future of Serbia’s foreign policy and European Integration”

Serbia is a mere 1922km from the Hague. It feels like the West and East joining. But how close are they politically? It is no secret that change is necessary for the country to be admitted to the European Union. People have gone to the streets to demand more democracy, but not all the civic movements were pro-democratic.

Politically, the government has maintained a close relationship with Russia, while boosting cooperation with China from economy to technology.

Serbia is at a crossroads. The future of the foreign policy of this country remains a big question. This is what we want to address in The Humanity Hub, on the 14th of June at 18h.

Our guest speakers are:

  • Ksenija Milenkovic, an Ambassador of Serbia to the Netherlands
  • Milos Labovic, Public Affairs and EU Affairs Specialist and lobbyist
  • Natasja Nikolic-Brankovic a political scientist, researcher, and lecturer European Affairs for several institutions in the Netherlands

The session will be moderated by Tamara Petrovic, a European Studies student at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. An introductory welcome will be given by Mendeltje van Keulen, Professor of Practice in European Affairs at The Hague University of Applied Science.

Please join us! You are welcome to join at 17:15, a small food buffet will be available before the event for registered guests.
