From the Red Sea to the North Sea: COP27 debriefing and dialogue

28 November, 2022 @ 4:00 pm 6:00 pm

Debrief | Dialogue | Connect

In November, the UN Climate Conference COP27 takes place in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. This is the largest annual gathering on climate action and has a direct impact on climate policy and practice. It takes place at a time when climate change is already impacting communities around the globe, and climate action is more urgent than ever.

Every job is a climate job: share your ideas and experience

The debriefing and dialogue is intended to help professionals in The Hague understand the outcomes of COP27 and reflect on next steps for real action on climate change.

We welcome professionals from across sectors: every job is a climate job, and decisions made at COP27 will affect us all. We look forward to welcoming ideas and experiences from across the spectrum of government, NGO, business; education, legal, media; social entrepreneurship and more.

The event offers a place to hear updates from COP27, exchange perspectives on the way forward, and connect with other professionals who share the same goal: to take decisive action on climate change.

The session is an interactive event: participants are invited to share their reflection on COP27, and their experiences working on climate action. We’ll then discuss how we can boost climate action and move forward in our own lives.

Speakers

Additionally we welcome the following speakers who will share their experiences from COP27:

  • Bastiaan Hassing Head of Delegation of The Kingdom of the Netherlands to the UNFCCC
  • Marlene Achoki, Global Policy Co-Lead, Climate Justice, at CARE Climate Justice Center
  • Laura de Vries, board member, Youth Climate Movement (Jonge Klimaatbeweging)
Stientje van Veldhoven: Vice-President & Regional Director for Europe, WRI

The debriefing is organized by The Hague Humanity Hub and KlimaatPositief, with programme contributions by guest speakers and members of the Humanity Hub.

Everyone is welcome to join us at the event: every job is a climate job! Get in touch for your invitation!
