Intern, Communications & Social Media Strategy

Internship Summary

WRI is looking for a creative intern who has a strong interest in our work as well as an affinity with social media. In this role, you will help us improve our social media strategy, as well as add value to content creation to reach out to the right audiences.

Profile

You will have a strong interest in environment and sustainable development and you possess strong communications skills. You are a creative and enthusiastic person, a storyteller who can adapt your communication style to reach a large variety of audiences and your skills include knowledge of graphic design, website and content creation as well as affinity with social media.  You are proactive and are not afraid to bring new ideas and perspectives to the table and you enjoy working in an environment that provides you the freedom to develop your ideas and work independently.

Ideally you will be studying something which is closely aligned with Social Sciences, Development, Politics, Environmental Sciences etc. which is closely aligned with WRI’s work.

Learning Outcomes

The intern will gain experience in the following areas:

  • Assist with creating podcast and videoclips for the website
  • Assist with creating a social media strategy
  • Work closely with the communications manager for content creation and adapting the content as necessary
  • Create guidelines and templates for the use of social media going forward
  • Other tasks within communications and other departments as required

Internship Qualifications

Students need to be registered at a college or university for the full duration of the internship.

Compensation

 This internship offers a reimbursement of 300 euros per month.

Duration

This internship is in principle full time for six-months, but we are flexible in terms on schedule and part time can be considered.  Start date is ideally 1st September 2018.
