Intern – Communication & Community Development

You will:

  • Communicate with relevant stakeholders and manage the Humanity Hub’s social media platforms
  • Help develop promotion strategies for the Humanity Hub and its events
  • Maintain and upkeep the Hub’s website
  • Produce written and visual content for our online platforms (website, social media, and newsletters).
  • Capture behind the scenes moments and interview members for the Humans of the Hub blog series
  • Assist in administrative tasks related to community development and memberships
  • Work closely with our Communication Lead and Community Development Lead
  • Participate in our community building activities and act as a host for prospective members

What you bring to the table:

  • A curious, friendly personality with a genuine interest in our community and our members
  • You are punctual, organized and can multi-task
  • Excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally, which you would use for blog posts, social media posts, and our newsletter
  • You are fluent in English and can (ideally) converse verbally in Dutch
  • A flexible, can-do attitude, ready to jump in and help where needed, and suggest improvements
  • You are able to work independently as well as within a team. You welcome feedback and use it to improve
  • Experience with managing websites and social media channels
  • You are tech savvy and aren’t afraid to learn how to use various tools (Office, Mailchimp, WordPress, Photoshop, etc)

Some additional things to consider:

  • You are currently enrolled in an academic programme: your are in the final stages of your studies in a relevant field (journalism, public relations, communications, international relations, media studies, European studies, marketing)
  • If you don’t have a degree in applied communications/marketing, you have demonstrable experience in this field
  • You must be enrolled in an educational institution for the entire duration of the internship period
  • You are legally allowed to do an internship in the Netherlands
  • You are living in, or near, The Hague
