Next to supporting our Meeting & Events team, you will help the development of a diverse community and help members make valuable connections, be creative by developing and implementing new projects, and work closely with and support the rest of our lovely team in other areas where needed.

What you will do

  • Provide outstanding service to customers with regard to booking and organising meetings and events
  • Assist with creating comprehensive proposals for room bookings and digital event services (incl. showing the space, thinking through logistics options together with the clients, managing catering offers, preparing technical offers)
  • Handle reservations process from request to invoicing
  • Help to boost the sales volumes and research new (online) channels
  • Encourage and support Hub members to use the Hub for hosting meetings and (virtual/hybrid) events at the Hub City Centre location
  • Improve efficiency of proposal and booking process
  • Help to develop and maintain long-term client relationships and partnerships
  • Be part of Hub’s programming team in planning and hosting community events
  • Research market trends and identify and capture opportunities for growth and improvement of event services
  • Improve and professionalize meeting and events processes and procedures
  • Develop, test and implement new ideas to make our Café more welcoming and profitable
  • Help us find innovative ways to use our convertible space and help our community make the best out of the space
  • Collaborate with the rest of the Hub team to provide more value to members and customers

  • Demonstrated interest in event planning and affinity with sales
  • Ideally you already have experience with event management and sales
  • You are fluent in English and have working knowledge of Dutch
  • Excellent communication skills, in writing and verbally

  • A curious, friendly personality with the ability to stay calm, responsive and solution oriented
  • You are punctual, well-organized, proactive and can multi-task
  • Self-starter with proven leadership skills with an eye for detail and finishing touches
  • A flexible, can-do attitude, ready to jump between tasks and help where needed, and suggest improvements
  • You are able to work independently as well as collaborate within a team. You welcome feedback and use it to improve and learn
  • You are tech savvy and aren’t afraid to learn how to use new tools
  • Available for flexible working hours to support events as required
  • You are currently enrolled in an academic programme: you are in the final stages of your studies in a relevant field such as hospitality, business management or similar
  • You must be enrolled in an educational institution for the entire duration of the internship period
  • You are legally allowed to do an internship in the Netherlands
  • You are living in, or near, The Hague
  • An internship position of 32 working hours per week (4 days) for a period of 6 months at the Humanity Hub
  • An internship allowance of €320 per month, based on 32 hours a week
  • Paid holiday allowance (depending on how many hours you work: 8 days based on 32 hours per week)
  • The possibility of part-time hybrid working (usually 25% of your working hours)
