The Hub is opening an unpaid legal intern vacancy to support the entity and its legal department in its daily tasks. The internship has a sole focus on the commercial law/compliance, and not related to human rights/humanitarian law perspective. The intern will assist the legal team and under the supervision of the Head of General Legal Counsel. This role is fulfilled by our legal partner MQM legal services.

What you will do

  • Compliance
  • Procurement
  • Drafting/Monitoring Contracts
  • Perform legal and factual research, including but not limited to the Dutch and EU jurisdiction
  • Perform records research
  • Identify relevant judicial decisions, statutes, legal articles, codes, and other pertinent material
  • Organize and analyze information
  • Cross-check and validate the information
  • Prepare written reports
  • Draft legal documents including briefs, pleadings, appeals, agreements, contracts, and legal memorandum
  • Help prepare legal arguments, applications, declarations, and motions
  • Prepare correspondence
  • Check and edit legal forms and documents for accuracy
  • Build and maintain databases and files
  • Organize and track case files
  • Review and monitor new and updated laws and regulations
  • Maintain law library
  • Occasionally assist legal counsel on other clients (time permitting)

  • Able to conduct communication in both English and Dutch fluently and professionally
  • Bachelor’s degree (from the third year on, including the Master degree), an associate’s degree, or certificate program in legal or paralegal studies
  • Skills in Microsoft Office application, in particular Outlook, Teams, and Excel
