Next to supporting our community management team, you will aid the curation and development of a diverse community of professionals; actively help our members to make relevant connections within The Hague’s peace and justice ecosystem; use your creativity to develop and implement new and exciting projects; and work closely with and support the rest of our team where needed. 

What you will do

  • Organise community-building activities and coordinate community programmes like peer-to-peer groups, etc. 
  • Act as a host for prospective members, support membership sales and the acquisition of new members 
  • Manage the onboarding journey of new members and host monthly onboarding sessions 
  • Research, build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, partners, potential members and speakers 
  • Understand our members and identify relevant opportunities for connection and collaboration within the Hub’s ever-growing community and beyond 
  • Work with our programming team to develop community-led programming 
  • Work with the communication team to promote membership and community activities 
  • Support the finance and admin team with the administration of memberships 
  • Support the development, design and execution of new event formats, programmes and community projects

  • Ideally, experience with administrative or customer relations work 
  • Fluency in English and , ideally,an ability to communicate in Dutch 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • A genuine interest in the Humanity Hub’s community and The Hague’s ecosystem for a more peaceful and just world 
  • A curious, friendly personality with the ability to stay calm, responsive and solution oriented 
  • You are punctual, well-organised, proactive and can multi-task 
  • A self-starter with proven leadership skills with an eye for detail and finishing touches 
  • A flexible, can-do attitude, ready to jump between tasks, help where needed, and suggest improvements 
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaborate within a team
  • Openness to feedback and hunger to improve and learn  
  • Tech savviness and confidence in using new tools  
  • Flexibility in working hours to support events as required 
  • You must be enrolled in an educational institution for the entire duration of the internship period
  • Ideally, you are in the final stages of your studies in a relevant field, for example: Development Studies, International Relations, International Law, Political Science, Public Administration, Communications, Business Management 
  • You must be legally allowed to do an internship in the Netherlands 
  • You must be living in, or near, The Hague 
  • An internship position of 32 working hours per week (4 days) for a period of 6 months at the Humanity Hub
  • An internship allowance of €320 per month, based on 32 hours a week
  • Paid holiday allowance (depending on how many hours you work: 8 days based on 32 hours per week)
  • The possibility of part-time hybrid working (usually 25% of your working hours)
