The Hague Hacks aims to connect the worlds of technology, justice and peace whilst creating opportunities and building partnerships. There is a strong relationship between technological development and the extent to which governments, elites and private parties are able to exercise power over their subordinates and opponents. Technology enables them to control, suppress or even destroy.
At the same time technologies can enable individuals and communities to either bond and build bridges or to strengthen their own bubble and mechanism for exclusion.
During The Hague Hacks we will focus on seven conflict areas each with their own specific problems and needs: Burundi, Turkey, Bangladesh, Rwanda, Syria, Sudan and Pakistan. Check our website to read more about the topics.
