Where are the Women in Global Governance?

8 March, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

- Registration required

The Hague Humanity Hub is hosting a lunch to celebrate International Womens’ Day! Professor Alanna O’Malley from Leiden University will be giving a short talk on the role of women in global governance.

Since the United Nations passed Resolution 1325 on women, peace and security in 2000, it has gradually been acknowledged that women have a powerful and decisive role in conflict prevention and conflict resolution. Going further however, it is important to think about the wider implications of this resolution including gender equity and equal opportunity at all moments to emphasise the important contribution of women to global governance.

We’ll also be providing lunch. For those of you wanting a catered lunch, local cafe Juni will be providing a locally sourced buffet! You’re also more than welcome to bring your own!
