74 years after the end of the Second World War, the show In Vrede shows how the war scars still have an influence on our lives. How is it possible – despite the fact that we now live in peace – that many people seem to have no real peace with existence and with history? A show about the devastating and connecting power of stories.

For this production, the company collaborates with writer and translator Nabil Nabo. He fled from Syria and came in contact with BERG & BOS through the On File foundation. Nabil has translated the piece In Vrede into Arabic. Thus there is an Arabic surtitles present.
Nabil is also the model for the Syrian character in the play. His experiences about what it is like to connect to a new society after a flight form the basis for one of the storylines in the play. A storyline that represents the recent wars and the new Dutchmen we have welcomed in recent years.
In Vrede is a performance about the devastating and connecting power of stories. Devastating when stories are distorted or told from one predominant perspective, and bound as big stories are told and all storytellers can speak.
