Global Health Café with Peter Salama

October 3 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

*Registration required, see below*

On Wednesday 3rd October 2018, Dr. Peter Salama, WHO Deputy Director General for Emergency Preparedness and Response, will be visiting The Netherlands. The initiators of Global Health Cafés gladly use this opportunity for a meeting & invite you to this special edition

Dr. Salama will give a presentation entitled “Ebola again: how Fragility and Global Health Threats Are Becoming Increasingly Interconnected”. The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is facing one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises. Over 13 million Congolese – and more than half a million refugees in the DRC – are in need of humanitarian assistance. At the same time, there have been two outbreaks of Ebola this year alone. During the Global Health Café, Peter Salama will discuss the links between the emergency crisis and the Ebola outbreak and how WHO, together with the governments and humanitarian and development partners, can tackle health emergencies.

His presentation will be followed by an extensive Q&A-session with the audience.

We aim for a diverse audience with representatives from Ministries, Parliament, civil society organizations, knowledge institutes and students.
