Future Session #10 – Reinventing the Future with Open Innovation & Design

27 November, 2018 @ 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm

*Registration required, see below*

In 2018, The Spindle and HumanityX (Centre for Innovation of Leiden University) collaborate in organising a series of monthly inspirational working sessions for our mutual communities! In these sessions, we’ll explore the relevance of (technological) trends for the future of development cooperation. The sessions are high in energy and always involve an expert. See what’s going on and get more grip on the implications and ideas that would work.
What we will do in this session:

We will start with an overview of global trends in technology, supported by inspiring and relevant cases. After that, we will work in small groups and look at how the selected organizations that are present can achieve the SDG’s if they had a “Dream Collaborator” utilizing these technologies. The focal themes of the session will be [Open Design/Open Source Technology/Permissionless Innovation] and we explore how these can drive inclusive change.

This session’s expert is Diderik van Wingerden. Diderik is a Pragmatic Idealist working on Digital and Open Source Innovation. Clients hire Diderik as Technical Project Lead and Open Design Expert. Diderik’s superpower is analysing and structuring. He has a solid background in Software Development, Business Economics and Lean Innovation approaches and knows how to integrate these.
