Join IOM, Rutgers, Pharos and Arq Psychotrauma Expert Group as we explore the complex topic of sexual and gender based violence (SGBV) in migrant communities in the Netherlands.
On the 10th December, representatives from health, protection, LGBTQI+, municipalities, integration and migrant groups will attend the PROTECT national event in the Hague. This event entails a panel discussion with gender, health and integration professionals including those with migrant backgrounds themselves. Learn more about the vulnerabilities of LGBTQI+ migrants in a workshop with COC, speak to the PROTECT migrant ambassadors about the role of migrants as ambassadors for change in national policy and practice, and hear positive examples of how psychological support can be tailored to migrants who have been affected by SGBV.
This event will be hosted primarily in English, though workshops will be hosted in the language most preferred by workshop participants.
Workshops:
Workshop 1: Bridging the Gap to Migrant Communities Affected by SGBV (Pharos)
Workshop 2: The Strengths, Challenges and Interests of LGBTQI+ Migrants (COC+Rutgers)
Workshop 3: After Referral: Psychological Treatment of SGBV and the Significance of Culture (ARQ Nationaal Psychotrauma Centrum)
