Migration and Humanitarian action (#1 – Refugee rights violations in Europe)

In this first session of a new series on Migration, Refugees and Humanitarian Assistance professor Thomas Spijkerboer (professor of Migration Law at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) will reflect on refugee law violations, difficult compromises, and options for the future. What is the status of refugee law in 2022? What do violations of this law say about its value? Is there a need for a new convention on the rights of refugees? 

The topic will be introduced by Thomas Spijkerboer, who will be interviewed by journalist and host Bahram Sadeghi. After the interview, there will be discussion, with input from Anila Noor (New Women Connectors), Ton Huijzer (Independent consultant), and the audience.
