Creative Session with Enterprise for Peace Scholars

21 October, 2019 @ 11:15 am - 12:30 pm

About One Young World and the Enterprise for Peace Scholarship
From 22-25 October 2019, the One Young World Summit 2019 will take place in London. Around 2000 young leaders from 196 different countries will take part in this conference that will connect change-makers to discuss and develop initiatives addressing the Sustainable Development Goals and create further social impact.

Building on the positive experience of Dutch participation in this Summit and a contribution to the conference by way of an extensive scholarship programme, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) is once more supporting a group of 50 young people (selected by the MFA and the Orange Corners team of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency) to take part in the Summit in London.

The selected ‘Enterprise for Peace Scholars’ are all contributing to sustainable economic development in different ways, through job creation and initiatives for poverty alleviation. The selected change-makers all come from the MENA region, the Sahel and the Horn of Africa.

The MFA and the Orange Corners team are organising a pre-Summit programme on Sunday 20 and Monday 21 October, with the themes of entrepreneurship, leadership and youth employment. The objective of this additional two-day programme is to increase the capacity and knowledge of these young people about these themes and thereby increase their impact in their home countries. In addition, we would like to create a stronger connection between Dutch policy makers, executioners and civil society and the young people coming from Africa and the Middle East.

YOU ARE INVITED:
This is why, on Monday 21 October 2019, we are visiting the Hague Humanity Hub for an interactive session with some of the Hub’s members. We would like to create an opportunity for some of the Hub’s members and the Enterprise for Peace Scholars to pitch their initiatives and enter into discussion about the themes that affect them and their initiatives, which will undoubtedly lead to new insights, cross-pollination of ideas and potential new collaborations. In addition, it is a great opportunity to showcase one’s work to several employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency who will be present for this session.
