Amare For Ukraine: Benefit Concert
6 March, 2022 @ 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Sunday, March 6, 15:00 Amare & Friends are organizing a benefit concert for Ukraine in the Concert Hall of Amare. All proceeds will go to Giro555, Together in action for Ukraine. The concert is part of the national campaign 🧡rt for Ukraine | Culture Supports Ukraine of the cultural organizations in our country.
Amare, Residentie Orkest, Royal Conservatory, The National Theatre and Nederlands Dans Theater are, like everyone else, deeply shocked by the developments in Ukraine. Their condolences go out to the victims of the war. To show solidarity and show support, Amare & Friends are organising a benefit concert in the Amare Concert Hall on Sunday 6 March.
In addition to musicians from the Residentie Orkest, students from the Royal Conservatory and actors from the National Theatre, various befriended soloists from Ukraine, among others, will perform, including pianist Anna Fedorova, cellist Maya Fridman, percussionist Konstantyn Napolov, pianist Helena Basilova and violist Hannah Strijbos. In addition to music and stories from Ukraine, works by Chopin, Skoryk, Vasks, Elgar, Strootman, Fondse and Bach, among others, are on the program.
For this pay-as-you-like concert, visitors decide for themselves what they want to pay for a ticket. The minimum price is five euros. Tickets can be purchased via amare.nl, hnt.nl and residentieorkest.nl. NDT offers a stream via the pay-as-you-like principle for which tickets can be purchased. The proceeds of the concert and the stream will go entirely to Giro555 of the Cooperating Aid Organizations for the reception of Ukrainian refugees. These initiatives are part of the national campaign 🧡rt for Ukraine | Culture Supports Ukraine of the cultural organizations in our country. If you can’t be at the concert but you want to donate, you can do so via Giro555, Together in action for Ukraine.
Jan Zoet, managing director of the Amare Foundation: “As cultural institutions in the international city of justice and peace, The Hague, we find it necessary to show our support for the inhabitants of Ukraine. With music and theatre we want to show solidarity and support this difficult time. This joint benefit concert gives us the opportunity to support the national action through Giro555.”
