White Helmets Foundation is a member of The White Helmets Group, a grassroots-founded civil defence humanitarian group started operating in Syria in 2013 to support those affected by the historic and ongoing Syrian crisis. The White Helmets are well-known for search and rescue in the aftermath of natural disasters and attacks on civilians, but their work has expanded in response to the needs of the communities they serve, now including delivery of life-saving emergency services, medical support and community resilience work to vulnerable communities, as well as justice and accountability programming that aims to contribute to ending impunity, building a culture of accountability, and laying the foundation for future post-conflict justice efforts. The White Helmets have saved approximately 115,000 lives since the organisation’s foundation.

We combine salutogenesis principles, i.e. what keeps people well and a big picture approach on how different parts of the health ecosystem work together to create long-lasting and scalable solutions. We envision a world where every person, regardless of economic status, thrives through proactive health promotion, empowering individuals to lead healthier and fuller lives.
